Troubleshooting

App crashing or comics suddenly won't load? Don't worry, here's a guide to fix common issues.

Make sure you also check the FAQ page for solutions to the most frequently asked questions.

General

How to get crash logs

If the app frequently force-closes and you want to report it to the Developer, you can get the system logs by: Going to Settings -> About (at the bottom), then tapping Share logs. Send this file to our Discord or GitHub.

Common Issues

App force-closes on first launch

  1. Make sure you've updated the app to the latest version.
  2. Clear the app Cache via phone Settings (Settings -> Apps -> yomito -> Clear Cache).
  3. If it still fails, uninstall and reinstall the app. (Make sure you have a data backup).

Comic list won't load

  1. Check your internet connection.
  2. Try switching to a different comic source. The original site might be having issues.
  3. Clear the network cache (Go to Settings -> Storage and Network -> Clear HTTP network cache).

Comic images are blank / not showing while reading

  1. Exit the reader page, then re-enter.
  2. Try opening the comic using the "Open in Web Browser" feature (globe icon). If images are also broken in the browser, the original source is having issues.
  3. Try reading the same comic from a different source.

HTTP Error Messages

If an HTTP code notification toast appears when opening a comic, here's what they mean:

HTTP Error: 403 - Forbidden

Possible causes:

  • The comic website has high-level protection enabled (like Cloudflare) that blocks the app.
  • The website is down, or your IP is blocked by the site. Try using a custom DNS or VPN.

HTTP Error: 404 - Not Found

This error means the source website is down, or the comic you're looking for has been deleted by the website admin. Solution: search for the comic in another source.

HTTP Error: 429 - Too Many Requests

This means the website's protection system temporarily blocked your IP because you were downloading/reading too fast (treated as a Bot attack). Wait a few minutes and try again.

HTTP Error: 5xx (500, 502, 503, etc)

If the error starts with 5, it purely means the comic website's server is down or broken (the issue is NOT with the yomito app).
